Jammu, Sept 21:
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Sunday undertook an extensive tour of Dansal and Nagrota blocks to assess damages caused by recent floods and to hear public grievances.
During his day-long visit, Choudhary inspected Panchayats Badsoo, Kattal Battal, and Sandhi, where he convened grievance redressal camps. Locals highlighted issues ranging from damaged roads and bridges to the need for immediate financial relief to affected families.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials of the concerned departments to take swift measures for restoration of essential infrastructure and resolution of public issues. He assured that damaged roads and bridges would be repaired at the earliest and that compensation would reach affected households without delay.
Choudhary reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development of far-flung and rural areas, adding that the state under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership is prioritizing welfare measures for vulnerable communities.
