New Delhi, April 28, 2025:
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval are set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11:00 AM today to provide a detailed briefing on the current security landscape, particularly in light of the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The high-level discussion will focus on evaluating the immediate response to the incident and formulating strategies to strengthen security protocols and prevent similar attacks in the future.
The meeting follows the tragic events of April 22, 2025, when militants attacked a group of tourists in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The assault, attributed to The Resistance Front — a group believed to be a front for the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba — left 26 people dead and several others injured.
According to survivor accounts, the assailants forced victims to recite Islamic verses, killing those who could not comply. The brutal attack stands as the deadliest on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir in over a decade and has drawn strong condemnation both nationally and internationally.
