Srinagar, Sept 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday chaired a follow-up meeting to review the progress of post-flood rehabilitation and relief efforts across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed concerned departments to fast-track damage assessments, expedite restoration works, and ensure the timely distribution of relief to affected families.
Omar Abdullah noted that connectivity has been largely restored with most major and internal roads reopened for traffic. He instructed officials to prioritize the clearance and restoration of the remaining closed road links to fully restore communication and transportation in the flood-hit areas.
The Chief Minister emphasized coordinated efforts among departments to provide prompt assistance to people and stressed that no delay should occur in delivering relief to those in need.
