SRINAGAR, June 17:
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today met with a delegation from the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) to discuss strategies for boosting tourism in the region. The meeting focused on collaborative efforts to position Jammu and Kashmir as a premier travel destination, both nationally and internationally.
During the interaction, the delegation shared insights and suggestions aimed at improving infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and promoting the unique cultural and natural offerings of the Union Territory. The Chief Minister assured the delegation of the government’s full support and emphasized the administration’s commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir more accessible, vibrant, and tourist-friendly.
“Such engagements reflect our dedication to revitalizing the tourism sector and unlocking the full potential of Jammu and Kashmir as a world-class travel destination,” Abdullah said following the meeting.
The visit by the IATO delegation is part of a broader push to attract more tourists and stakeholders to the region, which has seen a significant uptick in tourism activity in recent years.
