Srinagar, June 23: National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday criticized the central government for delaying the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, calling it “a right, not a favour.”
Speaking at a party event in Srinagar, Abdullah accused sections of the media of spreading “lies” about the issue. He also announced the formation of a Human Rights Wing within the party, to be headed by retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi along with two other members.
Commenting on West Asia, Abdullah warned Sunni-majority countries against relying on Western powers, saying, “This is not about religion, this is about exploitation.”
