Cabinet Approves 3% Hike in DA, DR for Govt Employees and Pensioners

New Delhi, October 1: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an additional 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective from July 1, 2025.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the decision on social media platform X, stating that the move would benefit more than 1.17 crore employees and pensioners across the country.

“The Union Cabinet, under the chairmanship of PM Shri Narendra Modi, has approved an additional 3% Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners, effective 01.07.2025. This decision will benefit over 1.17 crore employees and pensioners. I thank PM Modi for this thoughtful decision,” Singh posted.
