Manama, Bahrain – Democratic Progressive Azad Party chief and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that Pakistan hosts more terrorists than any other country in the world. His remarks came during a visit to Bahrain as part of an all-party Indian delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda.
Addressing the Indian diaspora and media in Manama, Azad underscored the spirit of unity among Indian leaders abroad, saying, “We may represent different political parties in India, but here we stand together as Indians.”
Praising Bahrain for its cultural inclusivity, Azad remarked that the country resembles a “mini India,” where people of all faiths live together peacefully and without restrictions. He drew a contrast with Pakistan, noting its foundation on religious lines yet its failure to maintain internal cohesion.
“Pakistan was created on the basis of religion, yet it could not hold together,” he said, referring to the separation of Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan). “In contrast, India is home to diverse religions and communities, yet we remain united and live in peace and harmony.”
Azad further claimed, “If we assess the global situation, it’s likely that Pakistan has more terrorists within its borders than any other nation combined.”
He also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in strengthening diplomatic relations with neighbouring countries, stating that such initiatives were vital for regional peace and cooperation.
