Srinagar, Nov 28 : In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Srinagar Police on Thursday attached a double-storey residential house and 4 marlas of land, worth around ₹75 lakh, under the NDPS Act.

The property, located in Usmania Colony, Badamwari, Lal Bazar, belongs to Arshid Ahmed Sheikh, son of Wali Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of the same area. Sheikh is a habitual drug peddler and is accused in FIR No. 50/2025 at Police Station Lal Bazar and FIR No. 31/2025 at Police Station Janipur, Jammu, for offences under Sections 8, 20, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act.

Investigations revealed that the assets were created from drug money, following which the competent authority ordered attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

The order was executed in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Khanyar, and independent witnesses. The owner is barred from selling, transferring, or altering the property.

Srinagar Police reiterated its resolve to intensify action against drug peddlers and dismantle their financial networks.
