Srinagar, Oct 9: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over what he termed as its “divisive politics,” asserting that his party’s engagement with the administration was solely aimed at addressing people’s issues rather than seeking personal favours.
“Why should I support BJP when they gained power by dividing people? We meet the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha not for ourselves but for our people. Serving them is our duty, not a shame,” Bukhari said while addressing a public gathering.
The Apni Party chief also took a swipe at the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), saying that despite receiving a massive public mandate, the party had failed to deliver on its promises.
“JKNC got a huge mandate while we were rejected, yet what have they done for the people?” he asked, accusing the regional party of ignoring the aspirations of the common people.
Bukhari reiterated that Apni Party’s politics is focused on development, empowerment, and service to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, distancing his party from what he described as the “politics of division and deceit.”
