SRINAGAR: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Saturday condemned the detention of MLA Mehraj Malik under the Public Safety Act (PSA), calling it unjustified.
He said Malik may have used harsh words in anger, but the issue should have been resolved through dialogue. Abdullah urged the Prime Minister and Home Minister to revoke the PSA, stressing that “mistakes happen in the heat of the moment, but the answer lies in compassion, not coercion.”
He added that the Doda region remains disturbed and only empathy and dialogue can restore calm.
