Srinagar, Sept 11: Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Surinder Chuadary on Thursday expressed concern over restrictions imposed on National Conference president and MP Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who was reportedly not allowed to meet Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh in Srinagar.

Taking to the social media platform X, the Deputy CM’s Office termed the move as “deeply unfortunate,” stressing that in a democracy, dialogue should never be curtailed.

“It is deeply unfortunate that Dr. Farooq Abdullah Sahab was not allowed to meet Shri Sanjay Singh ji, MP Rajya Sabha, in Srinagar today. In a democracy, dialogue must never be curtailed. Such actions send a wrong message and weaken the spirit of free political discourse,”the Dy CM posted.

The incident has sparked debate over political freedoms in the Valley, with the Deputy CM’s Office underscoring the importance of unhindered communication among leaders to strengthen democratic values.
