Jammu, Aug 27: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan, Jammu, to review the ongoing rescue and relief operations, restoration of essential services, and overall preparedness to tackle the situation triggered by incessant rains and floods across the Union Territory.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Union Territory administration, representatives of concerned central agencies, the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

During the review, the Lt Governor assessed the measures being taken on the ground to ensure timely evacuation of affected people, provision of relief materials, and restoration of disrupted services. He directed all departments and agencies to work in close coordination to minimize hardships faced by the public and to remain fully prepared to meet any eventuality.

The Lt Governor emphasized the need for swift response and continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.
