Budgam, August 6: Hon’ble Minister Dr. Sakina Itoo on Tuesday visited the Ichgam area of Budgam district to offer condolences to the bereaved families affected by the recent tragic electrocution incident.
Expressing deep sorrow over the unfortunate loss of lives, Dr. Itoo assured the locals that a time-bound probe would be conducted into the incident. She emphasized that strict action would be taken against any official or agency found guilty of negligence.
The Minister also announced immediate financial assistance and comprehensive medical care for the injured, directing the concerned departments to ensure prompt support to the victims and their families.
Taking serious note of the safety lapses, Dr. Itoo instructed officials to implement urgent safety measures in the area to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies. “There should be no compromise on public safety. Accountability will be ensured,” she said during the visit.
Local residents expressed appreciation for the Minister’s prompt response and demanded swift justice and long-term safety improvements in the region.
