Srinagar, July 26: On the directions of Health Minister Sakeena Itoo, the Health and Medical Education Department has mandated the wearing of white aprons along with legible nameplates for all doctors and paramedical staff during working hours across healthcare institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an official circular issued by the department, the directive applies to all medical personnel, including those engaged under the National Health Mission (NHM) and Ayush, in government-run healthcare facilities across the Union Territory.

“All doctors and paramedical staff are hereby directed to wear proper white aprons and clearly visible nameplates displaying their full name and designation at all times while on duty,” the circular reads.

The department has instructed Heads of Institutions, Medical Superintendents, and Chief Medical Officers to ensure strict compliance with the directive.

The move comes after it was observed that many healthcare professionals were not adhering to the norms, making it difficult for patients to identify medical personnel.
