SRINAGAR, July 12: The District Administration Srinagar has denied permission for all proposed gatherings or processions towards Khawaja Bazar, Nowhatta on Sunday, July 13, 2025, citing precautionary measures to maintain law and order in the city.

In an official public advisory shared by Srinagar Police, the administration has urged residents to strictly adhere to the directive and avoid assembling in the restricted area. “The general public is hereby advised to strictly comply with these instructions and refrain from violating the orders issued by the District Administration,” the advisory stated.

The statement further warned that any defiance of the order will attract strict legal action under relevant provisions of law.

Although the administration has not specified the exact reason behind the restrictions, such prohibitory measures are often imposed to prevent potential unrest, particularly in sensitive areas like Nowhatta, which has historically witnessed heightened tensions during certain occasions.

Authorities have appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and follow official updates to ensure peace and public safety across the city.
