LG Sinha, CM Omar Flag Off First Batch of 178 Hajj Pilgrims from Srinagar Airport

Srinagar May 5- The first batch of 178 Hajj pilgrims was ceremoniously flagged off today from Sheikh-ul-Alam International Airport, Srinagar, marking the beginning of the annual pilgrimage from Jammu and Kashmir.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah extended their warm greetings and best wishes to the pilgrims, praying for their safe travels and a spiritually enriching journey. The LG also expressed hope that the sacred pilgrimage would inspire prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity in the region.

The Chief Minister while wishing the piligirims posted on X, “Today, I had the honour of bidding a warm see-off to the first batch of 178 Hajj pilgrims from Sheikh-ul-Alam International Airport, Srinagar. Wished them a safe, fulfilling journey and humbly requested prayers for peace and prosperity in our region. officials and well-wishers gathered at the airport to offer heartfelt farewells to the pilgrims, who were visibly moved by the support and encouragement from their families and community leaders.”.

This year’s Hajj operations are being carried out under streamlined arrangements, with the government ensuring all necessary facilities and support for the pilgrims from departure to arrival in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

The remaining batches of pilgrims are scheduled to depart in the coming days as part of the Hajj 2025 operations from Jammu and Kashmir.
