SRINAGAR, May 18: The ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, which came into effect on May 12, will remain in place, a senior army official confirmed on Sunday.

Addressing speculation that the pause in hostilities was set to expire today, the official clarified that there is no predetermined end date to the agreement.
“As far as the continuation of the break in hostilities—as decided during the interaction between the DGMOs (Directors General of Military Operations)—is concerned, there is no expiry date to it,” he said.

The official also noted that no further talks between the DGMOs of the two countries were scheduled for Sunday.
