SRIHARIKOTA (Andhra Pradesh), May 17: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday began the 22-hour countdown for the launch of its PSLV-C61 mission, which is set to carry an earth imaging satellite into orbit.

The launch is scheduled for 5:59 am on Sunday, May 18, from the first launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. This mission marks the 101st flight of ISRO’s trusted workhorse, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).

“The countdown began at 7:59 am on Saturday,” ISRO sources confirmed to PTI.

The PSLV-C61 mission is part of ISRO’s ongoing efforts to enhance earth observation capabilities, supporting applications ranging from agriculture and forestry to disaster management and urban planning.
