SRINAGAR, May 14: Reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Tuesday said the Omar Abdullah-led administration is dedicated to ensuring comprehensive development across all sectors and communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Outpatient Department (OPD), AYUSH & Wellness Centre, and other key facilities at Trauma Hospital Bijbehara, Itoo highlighted the government’s focus on strengthening public health infrastructure.
She noted that over 300 doctors have recently been appointed and deployed, particularly in underserved and rural areas, to address gaps in healthcare delivery. “Upgrading medical infrastructure and enhancing grassroots-level healthcare remains a top priority,” she said.
The minister also pointed to visible progress in the health, education, and social welfare sectors over the past seven months, asserting that the government has earned public trust through performance and people-centric initiatives.
Urging locals to take full advantage of the newly inaugurated AYUSH & Wellness Centre, Itoo emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and wellness practices.
