Srinagar, May 4: Munir Ahmed, a former Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, has made a public appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene in what he describes as an unjust dismissal from service following his marriage to a Pakistani woman.

Ahmed claims he had formally sought and received permission from the CRPF headquarters before proceeding with the marriage. Despite this, he was later dismissed from duty, a move he believes is unwarranted and discriminatory.

“I have sought and received permission for my marriage to a Pakistani woman from the headquarters,” Ahmed said. “I am hopeful that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will do justice in my case.”

The case has raised questions about the treatment of personnel who enter cross-border marriages and the procedures followed within the paramilitary forces in such matters. There has been no official response yet from the CRPF or the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding Ahmed’s dismissal.

Ahmed’s appeal has garnered attention on social media, where he continues to voice his concerns and seek redress.
