Srinagar, April 20: The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued an urgent weather update, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir over the next 4 to 6 hours.

The alert also mentions the possibility of brief but heavy downpours in some areas. People across the region are urged to remain cautious and take safety measures amid the changing weather conditions.

Public Safety Guidelines:

  • Keep a safe distance from rivers, streams, and landslide-prone zones.
  • Refrain from venturing into lakes or engaging in Shikara rides.
  • During lightning or thunderstorms, stay indoors and avoid open spaces.

Authorities recommend closely following weather updates and adhering to safety instructions to avoid any untoward incidents.
