Srinagar, May 2: As part of the preparations for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, on Thursday visited Hajj House Bemina to take stock of the facilities and arrangements being put in place for pilgrims.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat (IAS), the Divisional Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the amenities and services coordinated by various departments to facilitate the smooth departure of Hajj pilgrims.
Senior officials from the Airport Authority of India, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Health Services Department, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), State Bank of India (SBI), Information Department, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Customs, J&K Bank, SpiceJet Hajj Operations, and Emigration authorities from Srinagar International Airport were present during the visit. The Executive Officer of the J&K Hajj Committee also participated in the inspection.
The Div Com reviewed critical facilities including foreign exchange counters, e-bracelet issuance stations, baggage scanning machines, boarding areas, sanitation infrastructure, and the availability of drinking water and electricity.
On the occasion, Bidhuri directed the concerned departments to ensure seamless coordination and efficient service delivery to ensure a hassle-free experience for the pilgrims. He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness, timely assistance, and uninterrupted utilities during the Hajj embarkation process.
