Srinagar, April 24 — Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is scheduled to visit Srinagar on Friday to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the aftermath of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
According to defence officials, top commanders from local military formations will brief the Army Chief on the current counter-terrorism strategies being implemented both in the Valley and along the Line of Control. The review will include inputs from the 15 Corps Commander and senior officers from the Rashtriya Rifles formations.
The visit underscores the Army’s focus on strengthening security infrastructure and operational readiness in the region amid a spike in militant activity.( KNS)
