In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, Maharashtra’s Cyber Cell has reported a staggering spike in cyberattacks, with nearly 10 lakh (1 million) incidents detected. Most of these attacks have been traced to threat actors based in Pakistan, the Middle East, and Indonesia.
Investigations revealed that the cyber onslaught targeted vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure, particularly in banking systems and government portals. This surge has raised serious concerns over national cybersecurity readiness, prompting renewed calls for comprehensive measures to strengthen digital defenses.
Officials have emphasized the urgency of upgrading cybersecurity protocols and enhancing cross-border intelligence cooperation to thwart such coordinated cyber threats in the future.
