SRINAGAR: The Jammu Kashmir Police have issued a warning after Bandipora Police observed that certain media channels and social media users have been sharing footage from security operations without the necessary approval from concerned police authorities.

In an official statement released on Monday, Bandipora Police called on media houses and social media handlers to uphold online decorum and avoid sharing or amplifying content that could disturb peace, security, or public order in the region.

“The Bandipora Police are actively monitoring social media platforms for any content that could potentially harm peace. Legal action will be taken against those who violate these regulations under the relevant provisions of the law,” the statement reads.

The advisory highlights the crucial responsibility of both media outlets and individuals to exercise caution in their online activities, emphasizing the need to preserve harmony and unity in the region.

The police also appealed to all media platforms to act with responsibility, urging everyone to avoid spreading divisive content and to instead contribute positively to the digital discourse.
