PDD Lineman Dies After Falling from Electric Pole in Srinagar

SRINAGAR — A lineman associated with the Power Development Department (PDD) lost his life on Monday after he fell from an electric pole while performing maintenance duties in Srinagar’s Hawal area.

Officials identified the deceased as Ghulam Ali Wagay, who was serving in the Hawal Subdivision. According to initial reports, Wagay was carrying out routine work on the pole when he slipped and sustained fatal injuries, leading to his death on the spot.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the fall.
