May 20: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Wednesday demolished an illegal two-storey structure along with an adjoining room and washroom built on State land at Haka Bazar in Lal Bazar.
The property, spread over nearly nine marlas and valued at around ₹1.5 crore, was allegedly linked to wanted drug peddler Arshid Ahmed Sheikh of Haka Bazar, Lal Bazar, who is involved in multiple cases under the NDPS Act, including FIR No. 31/2025 registered at Police Station Janipur Jammu and FIR No. 50/2025 at Police Station Lal Bazar.
The demolition was carried out by Police Station Lal Bazar in the presence of the Executive Magistrate Khanyar and officials from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation. Police said the action was taken strictly in accordance with law to dismantle illegal assets and financial networks linked to narcotics trade.
The operation was conducted peacefully under strict supervision. Police reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking and urged the public to share information related to drug peddling and other illegal activities.
