SRINAGAR: In preparation for the upcoming Mahashivratri/Herath Festival, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, along with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic, on Saturday visited the historic Shankaracharya Temple to review and finalize arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival.
During the visit, the DC took stock of the on-ground preparedness and reviewed measures related to crowd management, traffic regulation, security, sanitation, power supply, drinking water, and medical facilities. The focus, officials said, is to ensure a safe, orderly, and spiritually fulfilling experience for devotees visiting the temple during the festival.
The SSP Traffic briefed the DC on the traffic management plan, including diversion routes, parking arrangements, and deployment of traffic personnel to facilitate hassle-free movement and avoid congestion in and around the temple area.
