SRINAGAR: Police on Sunday attached a double-storey house worth around Rs 1 crore in Srinagar’s Natipora area under the NDPS Act after it was found to be acquired through narcotics proceeds.

The property, registered in the name of Javid Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Astan Mohalla, Natipora, was seized in connection with FIR No. 23/2025 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chanapora. Police said Ganie is a habitual drug peddler.

Investigators concluded that the house had been purchased using profits from illegal drug trafficking, following which the competent authority ordered its attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

The seizure was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Chanapora. The owner has been barred from selling, transferring, or making any changes to the property.

Srinagar Police said it will continue stringent action against individuals involved in drug trafficking and related activities.
