Bandipora, 21 Oct (KNS): Senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhter on Tuesday formally launched his political journey from his home constituency in Bandipora.
Addressing his first workers’ meeting, Akhter outlined his vision for the district and pledged to make Bandipora a model constituency.
He criticized his former PDP colleague and then MLA Nizamuddin Bhat, noting that no projects or suggestions for Bandipora were brought forward during his tenure. “All the initiatives I undertook, like Wular Vintage Park, Athawtoo tourist accommodation center, Mudhamati beautification, and the widening of Bandipora-Sumbal road, were my own ideas,” he said.
Reflecting on his motivation, Akhter added, “I walked these streets as a child and wanted to contribute to my native district.”
He also promised that if elected, local youth would no longer have to “beg for jobs,” but instead be provided opportunities to become job creators rather than job seekers.
