Srinagar, Oct 21 : The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has welcomed the Centre’s approval of 36 new road projects worth ₹292.33 crore for the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-IV Batch-I for 2025–26.

According to the AIP, Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has informed in a letter to the incarcerated MP from Baramulla, Engineer Rashid, that the sanctioned projects will cover 136.69 kilometres of road network, connecting 41 habitations across the constituency.

AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi hailed the approval as “a reflection of Engineer Rashid’s vision for equitable rural growth,” adding that the MP’s “commitment to people’s welfare continues to inspire progress in North Kashmir despite his incarceration.”

Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister, Inam said the initiative would significantly boost rural connectivity, strengthen local economies, and improve livelihoods throughout the region.

He further urged the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure timely and transparent execution of the projects so that their benefits reach the people without unnecessary delays.
