JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Following severe flash floods and landslides that wreaked havoc in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has arrived in Chanderkote to personally assess the situation and the extent of the damage caused by the natural calamity.

The region, which has been grappling with heavy rainfall, witnessed sudden flash floods that triggered landslides, obstructing roads, and damaging property. The Chief Minister’s visit is aimed at ensuring a thorough evaluation of the impact, coordinating relief efforts, and providing necessary assistance to the affected communities.

The floods have not only disrupted daily life but also posed a significant challenge to the local infrastructure, with roads being washed away and several homes severely damaged. Authorities have initiated emergency response operations, while local rescue teams are working to clear debris and assist in the evacuation of those stranded.

CM Omar Abdullah has expressed his concern for the safety and well-being of the affected families, emphasizing the need for swift rehabilitation and support. His visit underscores the government’s commitment to providing immediate relief and support to the residents of Ramban as they begin to recover from this devastating disaster.
