Beijing, July 23: India will resume issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals starting July 24, the Indian Embassy in Beijing announced Wednesday.
This marks the first time since the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes that Chinese tourists can visit India.
The move signals a step toward easing tensions between the two countries, which have remained strained over the border standoff in eastern Ladakh. It follows earlier agreements to restart direct flights, resume visa services, and allow Indian pilgrims to visit Kailash Mansarovar.
The announcement came after Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s recent two-day visit to Beijing, indicating renewed diplomatic engagement.
