SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir till August 15, with heavy to very heavy showers likely in several Jammu division districts.

Director MeT Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said areas including Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, and parts of Kashmir may experience intense showers with gusty winds.

The department has warned of cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable spots, advising people to avoid water bodies, riverbanks, and unstable structures.

Weather on August 16 is expected to be hot and humid with brief showers, while August 17–18 may bring another spell of moderate to heavy rain in Jammu division.
