June 15, 2025 — Former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Sunday, cautioning that any form of aggression against American interests would be met with overwhelming military retaliation.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape, or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. armed forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump declared in a post on his Truth Social platform.
His remarks come in the wake of a dramatic escalation in the Middle East after Israel launched strikes targeting Iran’s defense ministry headquarters in Tehran, as well as the world’s largest natural gas processing facility linked to the South Pars field in Iran’s Bushehr Province on Saturday.
Trump emphasized that the United States had no role in the Israeli offensive, but claimed he could “easily broker a deal between Iran and Israel to end the conflict,” even as Tehran cancelled the sixth round of nuclear negotiations with Washington on Sunday.
Casualties in Israel Amid Ongoing Conflict
At least ten people were killed and over 200 injured in missile strikes on Israeli cities Tamra, Bat Yam, and Rehovot. Local authorities confirmed four fatalities in Tamra and six in Bat Yam. Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke with the mayors of the affected cities, stressing the importance of protecting civilians from further Iranian strikes.
Iran’s Response: Operation True Promise 3
In retaliation for Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion,” which targeted Iranian nuclear sites, top scientists, and high-ranking military officials, Tehran launched a counteroffensive dubbed “Operation True Promise 3.”
A series of Iranian attacks began on Saturday night and continued into Sunday morning. One of the deadliest incidents occurred in Tehran, where an Israeli missile struck a high-rise residential building, killing at least 60 people, including 29 children, according to Iranian authorities.
Earlier, a separate Israeli strike near a home in northern Israel killed three women and injured ten others.
Fresh Barrage of Iranian Missiles
Following the deadly strikes, Iran launched another wave of missile attacks into Israeli territory. Emergency officials reported that four people were killed when one of the missiles struck an apartment building in the Galilee region.
The rapidly deteriorating situation has raised international alarm, with both regional stability and ongoing diplomatic efforts hanging in the balance.
