Amreli, Gujarat – April 22, 2025: A tragic accident claimed the life of a trainee pilot on Tuesday afternoon when a trainer aircraft belonging to a private aviation academy crashed in the Shastri Nagar area of Amreli.

According to officials, the aircraft had taken off from Amreli Airport around 12:30 PM for a solo training sortie. Shortly after takeoff, the plane reportedly hit a tree and crashed into an open plot within a residential neighborhood. The aircraft caught fire upon impact, but no civilian injuries were reported as the area was uninhabited at the time.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and managed to douse the flames, but the young pilot was declared dead on the spot.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The exact reason remains unknown, though preliminary reports suggest a possible technical failure or human error. A case of accidental death has been registered.

This is the latest in a string of incidents that have raised concerns about safety standards in private aviation training institutes across the country.
