Udhampur, June 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism entirely from Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at the Passing-Out Parade of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySsP) and Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, the Lt Governor emphasized that the fight against terrorism remains the administration’s topmost priority.
Addressing the fresh batch of 49 DySsPs and 1,112 PSIs, Sinha urged the officers to embrace a comprehensive approach involving intelligence-led operations, greater community cooperation, modern technological tools, and effective coordination between agencies.
“Our brave personnel in the Jammu and Kashmir Police must continue their efforts with stronger determination. Countering terrorism requires not just courage, but also constant alertness and adaptability,” he said.
Applauding the dedication and professionalism of the J&K Police, the Lt Governor remarked that the force commands great respect across the nation for its efficient handling of multifaceted security threats and its uncompromising stance against terrorism.
“The impressive and disciplined parade today symbolizes the beginning of your journey in service. Uphold the proud legacy and values of the J&K Police,” he told the new recruits.
Sinha also spoke of the wider role the police play in society, asserting that the force must serve as a pillar of peace, progress, and stability in the Union Territory. “Our civilizational ethos—truth, justice, moral integrity, rule of law, and sound governance—must be safeguarded. The police are custodians of these ideals,” he added.
The parade marked an important milestone in the strengthening of Jammu and Kashmir’s law enforcement institutions.
