Srinagar, July 21: In a major action against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police has attached property worth ₹1.5 crore under the NDPS Act in Khanyar. The seized assets include a two-storeyed house and over one kanal of land in Budoo Bagh, linked to Suhail Ahmed Bhat, a known drug peddler.

The property, officially owned by Suhail’s father, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, was found to have been acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking. Suhail is involved in FIR No. 55/2022 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Khanyar Police Station.

Acting under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, police have frozen the property, barring any sale, transfer, or use without approval. Authorities said Suhail has been a key supplier of drugs to local youth, posing a grave threat to public health.

This move is part of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s ongoing effort to dismantle drug networks by targeting their financial infrastructure. The public is urged to report any drug-related activities to aid in creating a drug-free society.
