Srinagar, Aug 11: A delegation of the International Sikh Federation (Punjab), led by Major Singh Khalsa, met National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, in Srinagar. The meeting was facilitated by the party’s Minority Wing Convenor, Sardar J.S. Azad.
The delegation apprised Dr. Abdullah of various issues concerning the Sikh community and outlined the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote reforms and safeguard Sikh institutions. They also underscored the need for sustained support in addressing the challenges faced by the community in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reaffirming the National Conference’s commitment to protecting minority rights, Dr. Abdullah stressed the importance of unity in diversity and upholding constitutional values. He assured the visiting members that the party, along with the Omar Abdullah-led government, would continue to safeguard the vital interests of the Sikh community across all spheres.
Among others present at the meeting were NC Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and Sardar J.S. Azad.
