SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that the administration is working diligently to reopen the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway within the next 24 hours.Addressing the media, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s immediate focus on rescue operations. “Our initial concern was ensuring the safety of those trapped by the landslides. We managed to evacuate them without delay,” he said.He further stated that the next major step is to restore access on the key highway, which is essential for transporting supplies to the affected areas. “Until the road is cleared and restored, it will not be feasible to deliver relief materials to Ramban,” Omar noted.The Chief Minister also said that officials on the ground have promised to restore at least one-way traffic on the route soon.He commended the administration’s presence in Ramban over the past three days, stating, “On the first day itself, the Deputy Chief Minister, along with the local MLA, visited the site to assess the situation.
