SRINAGAR — Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and former Congress president, will visit Poonch on May 24 to meet families affected by recent Pakistani shelling. This marks his second visit to Jammu and Kashmir in a month, after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Accompanied by senior Congress leaders including AICC general secretary Dr. Naseer Hussain, Gandhi will arrive in Jammu Saturday morning and travel to Poonch by helicopter. An advance team led by AICC secretary Shahnawaz Choudhary and MLA Iftikhar Ahmed is coordinating the visit on the ground. JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra has also reached Poonch to oversee arrangements.
Depending on logistics, Gandhi may fly via Srinagar and is expected to return to Delhi by afternoon after meeting affected families.
