Pahalgam, Aug 12 — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday interacted with members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) during their 445th Council Meeting held in the picturesque town of Pahalgam.
Calling the event a “morale booster” for Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah lauded the ICAI’s contribution to nation-building and the strengthening of India’s economic framework. He stressed the importance of professional expertise in driving transparency, ensuring good governance, and implementing grassroots-level accounting reforms.
The former chief minister extended an invitation to ICAI for deeper collaboration in bringing modern accounting practices and ethical standards to local governance systems in the Union Territory.
