Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli Resigns Amid Escalating Protests

Sept 09: Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned on Tuesday following escalating violence over the government’s social media ban, his aide Prakash Silwal confirmed. Although authorities lifted the ban, demonstrations persisted for a second consecutive day, with protesters demanding Oli’s ouster and the dissolution of the government. The unrest, which began on Monday, has already claimed 20 lives and left more than 250 people injured.
