Udhampur, J&K: A four-day mega eye camp titled ‘Op Drishti’ was organised at Command Hospital, Northern Command, Udhampur, offering vital ophthalmic care to veterans, Veer Naris and civilians. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, acknowledged the initiative, calling it a significant step towards accessible and quality eye care for the region.
The camp saw cataract surgeries and advanced eye treatments carried out by a specialised team of ophthalmic surgeons from the Army Hospital Research & Referral (AHRR), New Delhi. The expert team facilitated screening, consultation, and surgical procedures for a large number of attendees, many of whom benefitted from timely intervention.
Army officials stated that Op Drishti aimed to support ex-servicemen and their families while extending its services to civilians, reinforcing the Army’s commitment to community welfare. The event received appreciation from participants for its professionalism, efficiency and humanitarian outreach.
The Command Hospital continues to conduct similar medical camps across the region to strengthen healthcare access, particularly in underserved areas.
