Jammu, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday paid rich tributes to Maharaja Gulab Singh on his birth anniversary, recalling his enduring legacy as a visionary ruler and a symbol of courage and leadership.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the LG wrote that Maharaja Gulab Singh will always be remembered for his “inspirational military strategy, cultural preservation, upholding values and moral principles, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people and service to the motherland.”
Maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, is revered for his statesmanship and contributions to the consolidation of the region. His rule is often credited with laying the foundation of a strong administrative and cultural framework in the state.
