On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to the bravehearts of the Indian Armed Forces who laid down their lives during the 1999 Kargil War.
Taking to social media platform X, the Lieutenant Governor wrote, “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I bow to our martyrs and salute their bravery, courage and sacrifice. Our heroes fought in the most inhospitable terrain in the world and conquered the enemy. The gallantry, valour and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers will inspire the generations to come.”
He emphasized the unwavering determination of the Indian soldiers who overcame extreme conditions to defend the nation’s sovereignty. Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil conflict and to honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
