Budgam, May 6: The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Srinagar, on Tuesday apprehended a Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) employee while he was allegedly accepting a bribe in the Magam area of Beerwah, Budgam.Officials said the accused, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Dar, was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe amounting to ₹4,000 from a complainant. The bribe was reportedly solicited in exchange for processing a power connection to the complainant’s poultry farm.
Acting on a written complaint, the ACB conducted a preliminary verification before laying a trap that led to Dar’s arrest. An FIR (No. 3/2025) has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
