NEW DELHI, May 8 — External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday asserted that while India does not seek to escalate tensions with Pakistan, any military aggression against the country will be met with a resolute and decisive response.

His remarks came during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in the capital.

Jaishankar emphasized that the recent “barbaric” terror attack in Pahalgam had compelled India to launch precision strikes targeting cross-border terrorist infrastructure on Wednesday. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and security against external threats
