New Delhi, April 29: The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGsMO) of India and Pakistan held a telephonic conversation over the hotline on Monday to discuss recent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), official sources said.
According to defence sources, the Indian DGMO raised the issue of unprovoked ceasefire violations allegedly carried out by the Pakistan Army. The Indian side conveyed its concerns and warned against any further violations.
The hotline communication between the two senior military officials is part of the established mechanism for maintaining transparency and de-escalating tensions along the LoC.
There has been no official statement from the Pakistani side regarding the conversation.
The ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan was reaffirmed in February 2021. However, sporadic incidents of firing have been reported in recent months.
