New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday announced the formal launch of preparations for BRICS India 2026, with the unveiling of the official website, theme and logo of the summit.
In a post on social media platform X, Jaishankar said the launch was carried out alongside Ministers of State K.V. Singh and P. Margherita. He highlighted that India’s chairship of BRICS will be guided by a “Humanity-first” and people-centric approach.
According to the External Affairs Minister, India aims to focus on resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability during its tenure as chair, reflecting the country’s emphasis on inclusive growth and collective global development.
The announcement marks the beginning of India’s preparatory phase for hosting the multilateral grouping, which brings together major emerging economies to discuss political, economic and development issues of global significance.
India’s upcoming chairship is expected to prioritise people-driven initiatives and strengthen cooperation among BRICS members in addressing shared global challenges.
